Since elementary school, I've wanted to be a teacher. While my views on education have shifted over the years, one thing has always stayed the same. A career in education, in my mind, is an action, a verb - to teach. It is more than a 9-5 position, it is a movement with constant ebbs and flows. This space, To teach is my visualization of this journey, this movement.
I currently teach in Norwalk Public Schools as a gifted and talented specialist. I split my time between two schools who are piloting the Schoolwide Enrichment Model. I previously taught for Greenwich Public Schools as the Advanced Learning Program teacher and Math Interventionist.
In May 2017, I graduated with my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Connecticut. I have had classroom experiences in diverse settings all over the world. I've taught in Miami, Florida, Cape Town, South Africa, Hartford, Connecticut and London, England.
I believe in education as a means to ending the cycle of poverty and teaching students about diverse narratives and perspectives. I love to personalize learning for my students by using technology to cater to their different strengths. Every student deserves the opportunity to learn and grow.
